* choker for doop - haven't even picked the beads yet
* travelcard holder - either knitted or crocheted beaded thing to hang round my neck so I have somewhere convenient for my travelcard when I have no pockets. I have some "crochet cotton" which I need to try threading some of my beads onto.

* Patons green 100% cotton chenille - will probably knit into a jumper, maybe using that Jarol pattern I've had for ever, maybe not [http://the.earth.li/~kake/images/london.crafts/kake/green-cotton-chenille.jpg photo] (I have 10 x 50g balls bought from ebay)
* 2-ply red yarn with glitter thread (ebay) [http://the.earth.li/~kake/images/london.crafts/kake/red-shine-yarn.jpg photo] - quite thin, can be knitted on its own but takes forever and then goes all rolly-uppy. I've knitted a swatch with two strands of this held together with one of grey boucle, and it came out nice. I'm going to swatch it again held with the black Monte Cristo (cotton/acrylic mix, feels like brushed cotton sheets!) that I got from ebay.

See also [[Plastic Bag Crochet]].

* Cut up a plastic bag in a spiral about 1cm width. Use a 3.50mm crochet hook to make a slip loop and then 4ch. Join the last ch to the slip loop with a ss.
* 1st round: 12dc in ring ending 1dc in first dc. Place a marker after this 1dc.
* 2nd round: 1dc, (1 dc, 2dc in next dc) to dc above marker. Replace marker after current dc.
* 3rd round: 1dc, (2dc, 2dc in next dc) to dc above marker. Replace marker after current dc.
* 4th round: 1dc, (3dc, 2dc in next dc) to dc above marker. Replace marker after current dc.
* 5th round: 1dc, (4dc, 2dc in next dc) to dc above marker. Replace marker after current dc.
* 6th round: 1dc, (5dc, 2dc in next dc) to dc above marker. Replace marker after current dc.
* Repeat 6th round until coaster is the right size.

==== Crocheted towel loop ====

[http://the.earth.li/~kake/images/london.crafts/kake/crochet-towel-loop.png Photo]

* Make slip loop and 4ch.
* Make dc rows until long enough (leave 1cm on each end for sewing to towel).
* Make 3dc in the last dc of the last row, instead of 1. Turn to the side and continue the row for 4dc down the edges of the rows.
* Fold in half lengthways and continue to make dc down the edges of the rows, but working both pieces of fabric together, and skipping every other row or so to make it curve. When you reach the edge of the 5th row from the start, continue to work on one piece of fabric only.
* Sew to towel.

Currently on the go

See Kake Makes blog for all the boring details of what I did when.

  • Noro coat - knitted one skein, need to buy more
  • black fishnet crochet jumper - need to correct second sleeve and extend armhole slightly
  • Kake's Lilac Long Sleeve Top - back done, working on front
  • purple tank top - halfway up back, need to rip and redo half of front
  • purple crochet baby trousers for Katy - need to attach poppers
  • strawberry baby hat for Katy (needs sewing together (must find yarn))
  • bright pink baby jumper for Katy (find yarn, make neckline border, sew on buttons)
  • crochet socks - really finished, and have been worn, but I want to put some elastic in and maybe make the cuffs longer

Messing about with

  • Patons green 100% cotton chenille - will probably crochet into a jumper photo
