* 2-ply red yarn with glitter thread (ebay) [http://the.earth.li/~kake/images/london.crafts/kake/red-shine-yarn.jpg photo] - quite thin, can be knitted on its own but takes forever and then goes all rolly-uppy. I've knitted a swatch with two strands of this held together with one of grey boucle, and it came out nice. I'm going to swatch it again held with the black Monte Cristo (cotton/acrylic mix, feels like brushed cotton sheets!) that I got from ebay.
