Kake's Black Fishnet Crochet Jumper
![[Photo of the stitch pattern]](http://the.earth.li/~kake/images/london.crafts/kake/crochet-fishnet.png)
- Pattern used is amended from design G in the Sirdar White Book:
- used 2.5mm hook instead of 3mm for neater chains
- on the border at the bottom and sleeve ends made one link per 4 DC rather than per 5 DC
- Made the body width 38 patt instead of 35 patt to go a size above the maximum listed (ie to 44/46 in bust)
- Added 6-patt-wide panels at sides to increase bagginess (after trying on) - without the waist shaping where you go down to 4 ch/loop instead of 5
- Neck shaping needed changing - each side needs to be 10 patt wide not 6.
- Yarn used - Jaeger Siena 4 ply pure cotton shade 418 (black) dye lot 0050, bought from John Lewis. Ran out of yarn so the sleeves are in dye lot 5B2.
I am completely making up the sleeves, since I don't like the flared shaping on the ones in the pattern.
- Start with 19 patt, work 19 rows ending with the one without half-patterns on the sides
- Increase row 1 - ch 4, turn, 1dc in first ch, ch 5, 1 dc in next 5-ch sp, cont to end.
- Increase row 2 - ch 6, turn, 1 dc in 3-ch half-patt space, ch 5, 1 dc in next 5-ch space, cont to end
- Note that because we increased half a pattern on each row, despite having done two rows we are back again on a row without half-patterns on the sides.
- Work one row as normal (20 patt)
- Repeat the increase rows once each, work one row as normal (21 patt)
- Work two rows
- Repeat the increase rows once each, work one row as normal (22 patt)
- Work four rows.
- Repeat the increase rows once each, work one row as normal (23 patt)
- Work four rows
- Repeat the increase rows once each, work one row as normal (24 patt)
- Work until long enough.
I think this is finished, bar sewing in the ends, but I can't actually find it.
