Memory Wire

Memory wire is sold by various companies under numerous names. It's a type of tempered stainess steel wire which keeps its shape; it's sold in coils sized for necklaces, bracelets, or rings. To cut it, you'll need serious wire-cutter pliers. Each coil can be opened up for working and snaps back into shape when released.

Most memory wire bead projects are basically bead stringing. One threads the beads onto the wire and either loops the ends with pliers or glues on specially-made end caps, to hide the sharp ends. This kind of design can be livened up with drop beads strung on headpins. I'm interested in finding more adventurous ways to use it, but haven't come up with much yet. -- Lucy
