Moebius Scarf!

The Moebius Scarf, yesterday. HURRAH! When maths and knitting combine!! Doesn't it look nice, readers?

I am thinking of using Kake's lovely secret santa wool for this, but first of all I am going to have to figure out what on EARTH the starting instructions mean! Copied and pasted from Linda's moebius scarf site, all kudos to her et al ad nauseum...

Round 1: Ensuring stitches are not twisted, pick up and knit a stitch below the first cast on stich, along the lower edge of the cast on row. In other words, knit in the thread below the first cast on stitch while leaving the first cast on stitch on its needle. Your cast on row should now be "closed" into a complete circle with your newly picked up stitch on your "working" needle (closest to your body), in front of the other needle which still holds the first cast on stitch. Clear as mud? ;)

It might make more sense once I try this on Real Actual Needles with Real Actual Yarn. Has anyone used this technique before? Does it have a special name or anything?

The pattern also states specifically to NOT use stocking stitch. No easy knit-every-stitch solution then! The pattern suggests the old knit one purl one solution to produce garter stitch, but I'm thinking I might be adventurous and try something else. I like Pavillion but sense I would totally forget where I was and bugger things up. I'll report back after consulting my hem hem REFERENCE MATERIALS back in Sunny Peckham.

Double moss stitch perhaps easier

One sided knitting
